Description

This series explores the relationship between realism and abstraction. While I wanted some recognizable content in each image, I wanted the overall effect to be non-representational; something that evokes a deeper truth without being literal.

Description

I always liked Paul Jenkins art. He created watercolors by pouring paint onto a wet surface and gently manipulating it with a feather. My images were done digitally using Photoshop and Filter Forge to achieve the soft, fluid look seen in his work.

Description

These hard-edged images convey energy and movement through the use of color and intricate line work that gives the viewer the visual stimulation found in Op Art from the ‘60s.

Description

I wanted to see if I could digitally replicate the look of abstract oil paintings. I wanted the brushstrokes to be clearly evident and to interact with each other just like they do with traditional oil paint.
